Bend is another beautiful place to visit in Oregon. It is dubbed the outdoor playground of the West. The Cascade mountains are clearly visible today. Bend was originally a lumber settlement and has grown to become an urban center.

Lunch at Bend Brewing Co turns out to be a great idea. Only problem is so many craft beer choices, I recommend a tasting tray.

After lunch we enjoy a beautiful walk by the Deschutes River. The river begins on the east slope of Cascade mountains and runs into the Columbia River. The Deschutes River is not only beautiful but also has historical significance. In the 1800s it was travelled on by Lewis and Clark and was part of the fur trading route.
